Now that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) has successfully argued Samsung has infringed on its patents, Apple is now looking to take Samsung devices off the markets.
Apple is looking to ban eight different products of Samsung’s: Galaxy S 4G, Droid Charge, Prevail, S2 AT&T, S2 Skyrocket, S2 T-Mobile, S2 Epic 4G and the S Showcase, according to a filing. This comes after Apple won more than $1 billion following a ruling that Samsung infringed on six of Apple’s patents.
If Samsung’s were banned, it would be a significant burden to the company’s top line. Samsung generated 16% of its 2012 revenue in the America’s as of June 30, according to Bloomberg.
“The evidence and weight of the case are heavily in Apple’s favor,” Jefferies & Co analyst Peter Misek told Reuters. “We expect there is a two-thirds chance of an injunction against Samsung products.”
A hearing on the matter will take place Sept. 20.
Apple shares reached an all-time high Monday, closing at $675.68.
