Retailers have to move inventory at a good clip in order not to get stuck with a bunch of stuff they can’t sell because it has passed its sell-by date for some reason. The reason could be just too much inventory for a product that did not sell as well as expected or, conversely, a popular product that can be offered at a sale price as a loss-leader to attract more buyers and, with luck, sell them the product they want plus something else. Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) is no different. It’s just bigger than most retail operations.

The online retailer typically runs daily specials, and they are tailored for the sorts of thing a consumer might have looked at before. If you browse through the electronics gear, you are likely to see a daily deal on a tablet, phone or fitness tracker. Here are a few of Saturday’s hot deals from Amazon.

A Pebble Time round 20 mm smartwatch (601-00049) that works with either Apple iOS or Android devices is on sale $143.99, a savings of $56 (28%) from the list price of $199. Shipping is free, but the watch is only available until midnight Saturday April 23.

A MonsterRAX three-foot by eight-foot overhead garage storage rack (MR-3×8-W Pack 24) is on offer for $144.99, a discount of 64% from the list price of $400. Shipping is free and, like the Pebble watch, the deal is good Saturday only.

And for the kitchen, an Etekcity 11-pound/5-kilogram digital kitchen food scale (679113375758) for $16.89, a savings of 66% from the $50 list price. Shipping is free only to Prime members or for orders that total at least $49 (or you could add $25 in books and get free shipping too). This item is in stock regularly and is not a Saturday-only deal.
