Futu Holdings was the standout name at the August 21 close, finishing at $123.72 after rising 9.75%, the largest single-session move across the priority list. That kind of move draws momentum traders and options activity into the name the following morning.

Four other stocks cleared the 5% threshold on the same session: Tempus AI, IonQ, Rivian, and Hims & Hers. Having five names in one watchlist post gains of that magnitude on the same day is unusual and suggests broad risk appetite was running high.

The losing side of the ledger was quieter, with Cipher Mining the only name to fall more than 4%, dropping 8.45%. Applied Optoelectronics, fuboTV, Arm, and Iren all slid roughly 3%, an asymmetry that points to a session where sellers were not in control.

For investors tracking any of the five gainers, the key question heading into the next session is whether volume and follow-through confirm the moves or fade them. Large single-day jumps without a fundamental catalyst are frequently retraced, so the price action in the first hour of trading the following day carries outsized significance.
