Arista Networks finished at $202.78, topping a 111-stock priority list at the close of August 26. The next three spots on the gainer list were also hardware names, giving the sector a clean sweep of the leaderboard.

Rubrik added 4.34% to close at $96.68, followed by Arm, Dell Technologies and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Four hardware-oriented names occupying four consecutive spots in a diverse 111-stock list is not a routine outcome.

On the other side of the ledger, Snap was the session's hardest-hit stock, falling 8% to close at $5.45. Hims and Hers and Lucid also slid, leaving the losses as concentrated in a handful of names as the gains were.

Infrastructure and compute hardware attracted buyers on the day, while consumer-facing and speculative names faced meaningful selling pressure. Whether that rotation continues is the key question heading into the next session.
