At midday the S&P 500 is up about 0.6%, and the split underneath that index-level number is what investors should be watching right now.

The Nasdaq Composite is up 1.03% on the session while the Dow Jones Industrial Average sits slightly in the red, off about 0.1%. Money is moving into growth and technology names and away from the more industrial, value-oriented stocks that make up the Dow.
