BlackRock CEO Laurence D. Fink reported $205 billion of net inflows for the quarter, and the breadth is the story: inflows came in across every asset class, client type and region simultaneously.

iShares, BlackRock's ETF platform, contributed $135 billion of that total, spread across categories and global product lines. That spread signals demand is broad-based rather than concentrated in one corner of the market.

Active strategies added $66 billion in net inflows, led by fixed income and systematic franchises. That dispels any notion that BlackRock's growth is purely a passive-indexing story: clients are paying for active management at scale, which typically carries higher fees.

Technology revenue also grew, with annual contract value up 12% in the quarter. That line is worth tracking separately from asset management flows: it is recurring, subscription-style revenue that does not shrink when markets sell off.
