Opendoor just hit a fresh 52-week low at $3.00, 1.32% under the low it set on September 1. That is a second new floor in nine days, with the $2.9 billion market cap now roughly a third of where the stock traded a year ago.

Opendoor Technologies touched $3.00 on September 9, undercutting the prior 52-week low it had set just nine days earlier on September 1 by 1.32%. That kind of back-to-back floor-breaking is a signal that sellers are not finding any sustained support at levels that were already multi-year lows.

The stock traded above $9 in the late summer of last year, and the slide since has left the company with a market cap of roughly $2.9 billion, about a third of where it stood a year ago.

For a company whose business model depends on buying and reselling homes at scale, the macro environment for residential real estate has been persistently difficult. Elevated mortgage rates have weighed on transaction volumes across the housing market, which directly compresses the number of deals an iBuyer like Opendoor can source and flip profitably.

Whether $3 holds as a floor is the question now, with a second 52-week low in less than two weeks pointing lower until either the housing backdrop shifts or the company delivers evidence of improving unit economics.
