Nucor Corporation is a manufacturer of steel and steel products with operating facilities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The company operates through three segments: steel mills (producing carbon and alloy steel in bars, beams, sheet, and plate), steel products (including hollow structural section tubing, electrical conduit, steel racking, piling, joists, joist girders, steel deck, fabricated concrete reinforcing steel, cold finished steel, precision castings, steel fasteners, metal building systems, insulated metal panels, overhead doors, steel grating, wire and wire mesh, and utility structures), and raw materials (brokering ferrous and nonferrous metals, pig iron, and HBI/DRI through The David J. Joseph Company and its affiliates, as well as supplying ferro-alloys and processing scrap). Nucor is North America's largest recycler and maintains the strongest credit ratings in the North American steel sector. The company is investing in growth through new sheet mill capacity in West Virginia, expanded galvanizing capabilities, an automotive steel strategy, and a towers and structures business serving utility transmission markets. Nucor also has a carbon capture partnership with ExxonMobil at its Louisiana DRI facility and an investment in Helion, a fusion energy company. Updated

Nucor just set a fresh 52-week high at $275.29, clearing its early-August peak by 0.2%. The $62.4 billion steelmaker has roughly doubled off last fall's levels.
Steel pricing power is doing the heavy lifting: net earnings more than doubled from a year ago on record mill shipments, even as earnings per share came in a fraction under expectations. Management guided Q4 to in line with or modestly above this quarter, with higher realized prices offsetting seasonal volume softness.
Nucor reports after the close at 4:30 PM ET, carrying a two-quarter beat streak into a consensus of $5.83 EPS on $10.79 billion in revenue. The steel pricing read-through sets the tone for every US mill name this week.
