After a dramatic conclusion to the presidential race, insider buying was dramatically larger than we have seen in months, and it could continue the rest of the year.
With earnings for the third quarter wrapping up, executives and 10% owners that are insiders are once again free to trade shares, and volume is starting to pick up again.
The top analyst upgrades, downgrades and initiations seen on Thursday morning include American Express, Encana, Petrobras, Raytheon, Tesla and Walgreens.
It is an incredibly bullish sign for the markets to see insiders adding shares at these levels, especially in the traditionally slow month of August.
With August comes the end of the bulk of second-quarter earnings, and it also opens windows for insiders to buy and sell stock again, and boy did we see a jump in volume last week.
Maybe, just maybe, investors are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and it’s not the selling train that has run shareholders over since the start of 2016.
Despite the market rally, insiders are still buying at big levels, while insider selling remains dormant. This is a very positive sign for equity investors and the market as a whole.
Wednesday's top analyst upgrades, downgrades and initiations include Annaly Capital Management, Gap, Google, Johnson Controls, Symantec, Williams Companies and Yelp.
