Markets in Europe were higher at 5.40 AM New York time.

The FTSE was up .6% to 6,169. Barclays was up .1% to 683.5. BP was down .2% to 510.5. BT was up .3% to 300.75. GSK was up 1.2% to 1417. Prudential was up 3.2% to 703. Reuters was up .1% to 433.5. Unilever was down 1.6% to 1501. Vodafone was up 1.2% to 140.9.

The DAXX was up .9% to 6,641. Bayer was up .1 to 44.59. Daimler was up 2.3% to 55.27. DeutscheBank was up 2% to 95.92. Deutsche Telekom was up .2% to 12.48. SAP was up .4% to 34.12. Siemens was up .7% to 79.69.

The CAC 40 rose .7% to 5,421. Alcatel-Lucent was down .2% to 8.98. AXA was up 1.1% to 30.32. France Telecom was up .6% to 19.51. ST Micro was down .1% to 14.26. Vivendi was up .3% to 29.08.
