Asia Markets And Europe Open 1/14/2009

WinterMarkets in Asia were mostly higher.

The Nikkei rose .3% to 8,438.

The Hang Seng was up .1% to 13,682.

The Shanghai Composite rose 3.5% to 1,929.

At the open in Europe, the FTSE was up .3% to 4,415. The Dax rose .6% to 4,666 and the CAC 40 was up .5% to 3,215.
