Meta Rises 3% as Its Month-Long Run Extends on Muse Buzz; Reddit Nudges Higher

Meta's AI agent Muse is driving a month-long stock rally that has investors questioning whether the company's heavy AI spending is finally paying off in ways that could reshape its business far beyond advertising.

Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META | META Price Prediction) stock is extending a month-long advance Thursday as investor enthusiasm around its new Muse artificial intelligence agent continues to build. Shares of META stock are up 3% to $768.46, while Reddit (NYSE:RDDT) stock is edging 0.68% higher to $153.01.

The gains come even as the broader market is little changed, with Global X Social Media ETF (NASDAQ:SOCL) unchanged at $43.83 and SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE ARCA:SPY) down 0.03% to $767.62. Meta’s recent momentum has increasingly centered on Muse, while Reddit is participating in a much more modest move across social-media stocks.

Muse Keeps Meta’s Momentum Going

Meta’s Muse agent has quickly become a major focus for investors following its September launch. Meta is expanding Muse across apps and services, with the company positioning the agent as a system that can handle tasks such as email, travel and transactions rather than simply answer questions.

Moreover, Meta’s latest Connect event added to that story by introducing more Muse capabilities and integrations, including plans to bring the agent to Meta’s smart glasses. Meta’s broader AI strategy could give investors another reason to focus on potential monetization beyond the company’s traditional advertising business.

AI Spending Faces A New Test

Meta Platforms has spent heavily on artificial intelligence infrastructure and products, making evidence of consumer adoption particularly important to the investment story. Muse’s early traction provides a potential indication that Meta’s AI spending can translate into products that users engage with, although the longer-term financial contribution remains uncertain.

The monetization opportunity is also evolving as Meta considers taking a small fee from transactions completed through Muse. Meta has announced integrations involving payments, retailers, travel and grocery services, creating several potential paths for Muse to become part of everyday consumer activity.

Reddit Gets A Smaller Lift

Reddit is gaining alongside Meta, although Reddit’s move is considerably smaller and the company’s investment story is different. Reddit’s platform gives investors exposure to online communities and advertising, while Meta has been pushing deeper into artificial intelligence assistants, wearables and other consumer technology.

The broader social-media backdrop remains relatively calm, as shown by the unchanged Global X Social Media ETF. Reddit stock’s modest gain therefore suggests investors are giving the company some support even as the strongest momentum in the group remains concentrated around Meta’s AI developments.

Looking Ahead: Meta’s Rally Meets Higher Expectations

Meta Platforms stock’s continued rise is also raising the stakes for future execution because a stronger share price can reflect higher expectations for Muse and the company’s AI investments. Meta’s ability to turn early consumer interest into sustained usage and meaningful revenue could become increasingly important as investors assess whether the recent run can continue.

For Reddit, the key considerations remain tied more closely to user engagement, advertising and the company’s ability to monetize its large collection of online communities. Investors should watch for signs that Meta’s Muse adoption is translating into durable monetization while Reddit continues developing its own growth opportunities, with both stocks remaining exposed to shifts in broader technology and social-media sentiment.
