XRP Just Lost $1.35. How Low Can It Go?
XRP has cracked through two support levels in quick succession, and with no established floor between here and its August low, the next few daily closes could set the tone for months to come.

XRP (CRYPTO:XRP) has fallen below the critical $1.35 to $1.38 range that we previously identified. XRP is at $1.31, just shy of $1.32, which we previously marked as a key level if this range breaks. Over the past 24 hours, XRP has dropped by 5.0%, and it’s down 6.3% over the last week.
This decline is part of a larger trend affecting the entire cryptocurrency market. Nearly $1 billion in leveraged positions were liquidated as both Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) and Ether (CRYPTO:ETH) saw significant drops alongside XRP. XRP is currently trading 64.1% below its all-time high of $3.65.
With the loss of this critical price zone and now slipping below a second support level, the question remains. How low can XRP go?
Liquidations Drove XRP’s Drop, but Holder Selling Could Keep It Going

A liquidation occurs when an exchange forces a trader to close a leveraged position because the price has fallen below a certain threshold. This happens when traders borrow money to buy more XRP than they can afford. If the price drops too much, exchanges automatically sell positions to cover the loans, which can trigger more sell-offs and push the price even lower.
While liquidation-driven drops eventually stabilize once all over-leveraged positions are cleared, holders may continue to sell. This selling can persist for an extended period, stopping only when those holders stop selling.
Currently, the data doesn’t clearly show what’s driving the recent price decline, but the next few trading sessions should provide more insight. Typically, liquidation drops may see a quick rebound once forced selling ends, whereas prolonged selling from holders tends to keep pushing the price lower.
XRP’s Key Support Levels Run From $1.38 Down to $1.17

Support levels are price points where buyers have historically stepped in. While they offer points to watch, there’s no guarantee prices will hold at these levels, especially during liquidation events when prices can drop sharply.
The first level to watch was the $1.35 to $1.38 range, which XRP has now broken. Any potential rebound would require XRP to reclaim this range to pause the downward trend. Next, the critical level is $1.32, which has also been breached.
Below that is $1.17, the low set in August 2026. No established support levels exist between $1.32 and $1.17, so a further drop below $1.32 could easily push XRP toward $1.17.
XRP Funds Took In Money, but XRP Has Lagged for a Month

On a slightly positive note, XRP fund holders recorded a small inflow of about $740,000 on October 14, making XRP the only of the four major coins to take in money during that session, according to SoSoValue. While this amount is relatively minor for a coin valued at around $82.6 billion, it still indicates investor interest despite XRP’s poor performance relative to the market.
Over the last 30 days, XRP has declined by 5.6%, making it one of the weakest performers among the 26 coins we track. Its funds now hold less value than what buyers initially invested. Together with a month of losses, this suggests that the ongoing selling may be driven more by steady holder selling than by a sudden wave of liquidations.
In an analysis published on October 14, Anthropic’s AI model, Claude, estimated a 25% chance that XRP could fall below $1 by June 30, 2027. This estimate reflects one perspective, not a definitive forecast.
How Low Can XRP Go From Here?
It seems more likely that XRP will test its August low of $1.17 before recovering to $1.38. The ongoing weakness over the last month suggests selling pressure that predates the recent liquidations, and a single inflow isn’t enough to offset it. To halt the current decline, XRP needs to stabilize above $1.32 after liquidation selling subsides, then close the day above $1.38, the top of the zone it lost.
A close above $1.38 could indicate the liquidation wave has played out, while a close below $1.17 could expose the token to further risk, bringing Claude’s estimate of a potential drop below $1 into view. Thus, the next few daily closes—one above $1.38 or one below $1.17—could significantly influence the XRP price direction.
