$1,000 in Cardano or $1,000 in Solana: Which Could Be Worth More by 2030? ChatGPT AI Runs the Numbers

ChatGPT ran three scenarios for a $1,000 bet on Cardano versus Solana through 2030, and the results reveal a surprising twist that makes picking a clear winner far harder than expected.

ChatGPT gives Solana (CRYPTO:SOL) a 65% chance of turning $1,000 into more than Cardano (CRYPTO:ADA) by the end of 2030. However, ChatGPT’s base-scenario values for the two investments are only $24 apart, making the decision between Cardano and Solana less clear-cut than it may appear.

ADA is priced at about $0.20 after a 20.1% drop over the past month, while SOL trades around $101, down 16.3%. Both cryptocurrencies have grown over the last 90 days, with ADA up 26.4% and SOL up 37.6%, though both remain well below their all-time highs.

So, which investment—$1,000 in Cardano or $1,000 in Solana—could end up being worth more by 2030? Let’s explore the potential outcomes.

Based on ChatGPT’s prices, $1,000 could buy about 4,888 ADA at $0.2046 each or 9.87 SOL at $101.31 each. Below is a breakdown of what each investment could be worth in ChatGPT’s three scenarios by the end of 2030.

Scenario ADA Price Value of $1,000 in ADA SOL Price Value of $1,000 in SOL
Bear $0.05 $244 $35 $345
Base $0.50 $2,444 $250 $2,468
Bull $1.50 $7,331 $600 $5,922

ADA shows greater potential return in the bull scenario because, as a lower-priced cryptocurrency, it has more room to grow if adoption increases. However, SOL has less downside risk in the bear scenario, which is why ChatGPT favors it.

Solana Needs a 2.9x Gain to Regain Its Record, Cardano Needs 15x

To better assess each cryptocurrency’s potential, we need to consider market cap, which is calculated by multiplying a coin’s price by its circulating supply. Solana has a market cap of about $59.4 billion, placing it seventh among cryptocurrencies, while Cardano is at around $7.6 billion, ranking 18th.

As new coins are consistently released, it becomes more challenging for older prices to be matched. ADA’s all-time high of $3.09 was reached in September 2021, but with over 37.5 billion ADA in circulation out of a maximum of 45 billion, hitting $3.09 again requires a much higher valuation. In contrast, Solana has no cap on its maximum supply and has nearly 590 million SOL circulating.

ChatGPT estimates that SOL would need to increase by about 2.9 times its current price to return to its previous record near $293, and it puts the probability of that at 35% by 2030. Conversely, ADA would need to reach about 15 times its current price, with only a 5% probability.

Alpenglow, JPMorgan and Midnight Could Move SOL and ADA

Recent developments could influence the value of SOL and ADA. Anza, a Solana development company, launched its Alpenglow upgrade on October 21, aiming for transactions to finalize in about 150 milliseconds. This quicker transaction speed might help boost Solana’s appeal for trading and payments. Despite the upgrade, SOL fell 3.4% in the week leading up to October 26.

Additionally, JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:JPM | JPM Price Prediction) has brought tokenized funds to Solana. By allowing these funds to settle continuously on a blockchain, Solana adds new financial utility beyond just trading and meme coins. However, ChatGPT highlights concerns about Solana’s reliability, competition, and the concentration of transaction validators, which could pose risks to its stability.

On the other hand, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson welcomed TRON (CRYPTO:TRX) to its privacy network, Midnight, enabling users to validate information without disclosing personal data. However, Hoskinson has faced scrutiny for introducing a new programming language in the Cardano ecosystem.

Midnight could challenge ChatGPT’s significant concern for ADA—it views Cardano as more likely to lose value due to a lack of adoption. So far in 2026, ADA has dropped 38.6%, whereas SOL has declined by 18.5%.

Cardano or Solana: Which $1,000 Could Be Worth More by 2030?

Based on this analysis, Solana appears more likely to outperform Cardano. Over the past year, SOL has declined by 49.3%, while ADA has dropped by 70.0%. SOL is 65.6% below its all-time high, while ADA is down 93.4%.

That said, both holders will need to be patient. Solana must recover to about $121, where it was trading before a recent 30-day decline, then reach $200, a level it maintained in October 2025, before eyeing $250.

Meanwhile, ADA needs to climb back above $0.33, its 2026 starting point, before considering $0.50. If both Midnight and Alpenglow fail to attract new users, we could see ChatGPT’s bear predictions of $0.05 for ADA and $35 for SOL materialize, with ADA likely facing a steeper downturn. Our perspective could shift toward Cardano if it closes above the $0.33 mark before Solana recovers past $121.
