If Bitcoin Falls Below $75,000, Which Drops Harder: Dogecoin, Cardano or Litecoin?
Bitcoin is hovering just 3.5% above a price level that has historically triggered brutal altcoin selloffs, and not all three popular coins will suffer equally when that floor gives way.

If Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) falls below $75,000, Cardano (CRYPTO: ADA) appears most at risk among the three popular altcoins. Dogecoin (CRYPTO: DOGE) follows Cardano, with Litecoin (CRYPTO: LTC) expected to fare better in normal market drops. However, Litecoin carries significant risk, as shown during the major selloff in 2026.
Bitcoin is trading at $77,609, about 3.5% above the critical $75,000 mark. Over the last 30 days, Bitcoin has declined by 10.4% and dropped 3.7% in the past week, putting it roughly 38% below its all-time high of $126,080, reached on October 6, 2025.
Bitcoin Slid Toward $75,000 After an October 29 Break

Bitcoin’s price began to decline more sharply on October 29, starting the day at $81,249 and ending at $77,780. The following session brought heavy trading volume and a drop to a low of $76,141, marking the lowest point in the last 30 days.
Currently, there isn’t a single clear reason for this decline, but significant drops like the one seen on October 30 often result from liquidations. A liquidation occurs when a trader borrows funds to take larger positions, but if the price moves against them, the exchange sells their assets to repay the loan, pushing the price down further. This can create a cycle of forced sales, particularly around key price levels like $75,000, which attract heavy trading activity.
The overall trend for Bitcoin appears to be bearish. The price currently sits below its 20-day average of $80,528 and its 50-day average of $81,925. However, it remains above its 200-day average of $73,162, which many traders consider the long-term trend indicator. Just beneath that is the 90-day low of $62,844, recorded on August 16.
Cardano Has Taken the Hardest Hits When Bitcoin Falls

Beta measures how much a cryptocurrency tends to move relative to Bitcoin—specifically, over the last 90 days. Cardano has a beta of 1.55, meaning it tends to move more than Bitcoin does, while Dogecoin’s beta is 1.45. In comparison, Litecoin’s beta is 0.99, indicating it closely tracks Bitcoin.
In the three instances in 2026 where Bitcoin dropped by 5% or more over a week, Cardano showed significant declines.
| Window (2026) | Bitcoin | Dogecoin | Cardano | Litecoin |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| September 3 to 10 | -5.8% | -5.6% | -7.5% | +1.2% |
| June 23 to 30 | -6.5% | -8.6% | -4.7% | -0.5% |
| May 30 to June 6 | -17.6% | -18.6% | -33.3% | -21.1% |
Cardano posted the biggest drop, down 33.3%, while Bitcoin fell 17.6%. While Dogecoin generally follows Bitcoin closely, Litecoin surprisingly rose in September and fell only slightly in June. However, during the May-to-June sell-off, Litecoin lost 21.1%.
Recent movements support this trend, with Cardano falling 7.7% in a week compared to Bitcoin’s 3.7% decline. Over 30 days, Cardano is down 26.9%, Dogecoin 21.6%, and Litecoin 23.5%. Smaller altcoins like Cardano typically drop more during downturns because they have thinner order books, making them more susceptible to selling pressure. Notably, Cardano has fallen 0.6% over the past 90 days while Bitcoin has risen 20%, leaving Cardano holders with less profit to cushion potential losses.
Where Cardano, Dogecoin and Litecoin Find Support

Currently, Cardano is priced at $0.19, below all its moving averages, with a 20-day average of $0.21, a 50-day average of $0.23 and a 200-day average of $0.21. The nearest support is the 30-day low of $0.189, less than a 1% drop away. Below that is the 90-day low of $0.174 recorded on August 17, and the yearly low at $0.144.
Dogecoin is trading at $0.075, also below all three moving averages, with its 30-day low at $0.074 as the immediate support level, followed by the yearly low of $0.069 from August 6.
In contrast, Litecoin is currently priced at $54, the only one of the three trading above its 200-day average of $52. Its 30-day low is just below current levels at $53.65, and the next point of interest is the 90-day low of $44 from August 14.
Which Coin Drops Hardest if Bitcoin Falls Below $75,000?
If Bitcoin closes below $75,000, Cardano is poised to decline the most, followed by Dogecoin, while Litecoin may hold up better. However, since Bitcoin hasn’t yet closed below this critical level, this analysis is based on past performance, and future movements can vary depending on how low Bitcoin dips.
This ranking remains valid if Bitcoin does indeed close below $75,000, Cardano drops below $0.189, and Litecoin stays above $52. If Litecoin falls below $52 before Cardano slips below $0.189, we could see a pattern similar to the significant downturn in May, with Litecoin potentially dropping as much as the other altcoins.
