XRP Price Prediction 2040: What Could XRP Be Worth in 14 Years?
Some investors dream of XRP hitting $50 or even $100, but the math on market cap tells a harsher story. Supply releases, lukewarm ETF demand, and bank habits could decide which targets survive the next 14 years.

An XRP price prediction for 2040 involves weighing a variety of factors over the next 14 years, including new regulations, market trends, and multiple cycles of price swings. As of November 8, 2026, XRP (CRYPTO: XRP) is priced at $1.15, which is 68.4% below its all-time high of $3.65, reached in July 2025.
XRP has declined 17.0% over the past month, dropping from $1.39 on October 9. It has also fallen 49.6% from $2.29 a year ago and has moved between $1.15 and $1.34 since the beginning of November. Market sentiment looks cautious, too, as the crypto Fear and Greed Index stood at 39 on November 8, signaling fear among traders.
Long-term investors often talk about price targets such as $10, $50, and $100 for XRP. Measured from the current price of $1.15, $10 is 8.7 times higher, $50 is 43 times, and $100 is 87 times. So, what would it take for XRP to hit any of these targets by 2040?
At $50, XRP Would Surpass the Entire Crypto Market

Market capitalization, the coin’s price multiplied by the number of coins in circulation, is the simplest way to test these targets. XRP’s market cap is $73.3 billion, with 63.52 billion coins circulating out of a maximum supply of 100 billion. That makes XRP the fifth-largest cryptocurrency, holding 2.9% of a total crypto market valued at $2.53 trillion.
At $10, XRP’s market cap would rise to $635.2 billion, still below the overall crypto market’s value. At $50, it would reach about $3.18 trillion, more than all cryptocurrencies combined. At $100, XRP would need a market cap of $6.35 trillion, about 2.5 times the current total crypto market.
Supply dilution adds to the challenge. Ripple, which holds most of the uncirculated coins, can release up to 1 billion XRP a month from escrow. If the full supply of 100 billion coins is circulating by 2040, XRP at $10 would mean a $1 trillion market cap instead of $635.2 billion.
So far, Ripple has re-locked most of the XRP it releases each month, and the escrow still held about 30.4 billion XRP on November 1, according to a look at Ripple’s monthly releases. Even so, the steady release of coins means XRP needs a consistent flow of new buyers just to hold its current price.
What XRP Needs to Reach Double Digits by 2040

XRP ETF Demand Has to Wake Up
Spot XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) hold the coin directly and trade on stock exchanges. As of November 6, U.S. spot XRP ETFs had recorded $1.81 billion in cumulative net inflows since launch, but they hold only $1.34 billion in net assets, so ETF investors as a group are holding losses. For XRP to reach $50 or $100, demand for these funds would need to be far higher.
Banks Have to Hold XRP Longer
XRP serves mainly as a bridge currency in Ripple Payments, helping move value quickly between two other currencies. However, banks and payment firms often sell it shortly after buying, leaving few long-term holders. Ripple’s presence did grow in late October, when Ripple National Trust Bank received final approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
Tokenization turns assets like bonds or property into tokens on a blockchain. For XRP to reach double digits, much of that activity would need to move onto the XRP Ledger, with XRP used in each transaction.
Two or Three More Crypto Cycles Have to Finish Higher
XRP’s notable price surge came in late 2024, when it rose from about $0.51 at the end of October to $1.94 in November, driven by hopes for friendlier crypto rules after the U.S. election. However, previous cycles have ended in steep declines.
Recent 2028 scenarios put XRP between $0.73 and $3.65, while $25 by 2030 looks unlikely and $100 by 2030 very improbable. More price cycles before 2040 could give XRP additional chances, but each must surpass previous peaks.
So, What Could XRP Be Worth by 2040?
XRP’s price could range from about $0.73 to $10 by 2040, while $50 or $100 seems quite unlikely. The lower end may arrive if ETF demand stays stagnant and supply keeps growing. On the other hand, the upper range could come into reach if banks begin holding XRP longer and a series of market cycles each peak higher than the last.
On the upside, XRP first needs to recover $2.29, its price a year ago, then hold above its $3.65 all-time high while ETF inflows climb well past $1.81 billion. Only then does $10 become a serious discussion. On the downside, a drop below $1.01, its price on August 10, 2026, with daily ETF flows still at zero, could pull any XRP price prediction for 2040 toward the bottom of that range.
