Amazon Rolls Out Array of Deals on Electronics Gear

courtesy of Amazon.com Inc.

Judging by the volume of promotional emails this shopping season, consumer electronics appears to offer a lot of bang for the buck. And nowhere does the list of electronics gear available at sale prices appear to be longer than at Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN). In Wednesday morning’s email, just two shopping days before Christmas, the company has new deals on just about any electronic gizmo one can imagine.

Among the most widely promoted products this year have been Smart TVs, including HD, Ultra HD and lower resolution versions. For example, a 720p 28-inch Roku Smart TV (TCL 28S3750) is on sale for $169.99, a savings of 26% off the regular price of $229.99. A 48-inch 1080p Roku Smart TV (TCL 48FS3700) is being offered for $369.99, a savings of $150 (29%) from the regular price. At the high end, a Samsung 65-inch 4K Ultra HD Smart TV (UN65JU6500) is on offer for $1,597.99, a reduction of 31% from the regular price of $2,299.99. All those prices are good through at least New Year’s Day.

Amazon’s own seven-inch Fire tablets are selling for $49.99, if you sign up for what the company calls Special Offers, essentially ads that are displayed as screen savers when the tablet is sleeping. Without special offers, the price is $64.99. The same device is available from Staples along with a 32GB SD card for $79.99. A similar card costs between $10 and $20 at a variety of other retailers.

A gold-colored, unlocked iPhone 6s with 64 gigabytes of memory is selling for $824.10 beginning December 27. The phone is sold by one of Amazon’s retail partners and Amazon fills the order. The unlocked phone has a regular price of $1,199.99, according to Amazon.

Alas, none of these offers appears to be expected to arrive at our door until after Christmas Day, but depending on where you live, one-day shipping or even same-day shipping may be available.
