Amazon Takes on Best Buy Deals With TV and Audio

Big-screen TVs have recently been among the most heavily promoted consumer electronics items, and it does not appear that the situation is about to change anytime soon. Both Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) and Best Buy Co. Inc. (NYSE: BBY) continue offer big savings on certain models. In fact, the two are setting nearly identical prices on some of the same items.

Amazon, for example, has priced a Samsung 65-inch curved screen 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV (UN65JU6700) at $1,497.99, a savings of $1,202.00 (45%). Best Buy offers a TV with similar specifications and a slightly different model number (UN65JU6700FXFA) for $1,499.99. The Best Buy version carries a list price of $2,299.99 and the Amazon version’s list price is $2,699.99.

Both include free shipping, and the Best Buy TV also ships with a remote, a stand and a power cable; Amazon notes only that a remote is included. The Amazon deal is also only available until 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
