Alamos Gold Inc. is an intermediate gold producer with diversified production from three operations in North America:
- **Island Gold District** in northern Ontario, comprising the underground Island Gold mine and the Magino open pit mine and mill.
- **Young-Davidson** underground mine in northern Ontario.
- **Mulatos District** in Sonora, Mexico, comprising the Mulatos and La Yaqui Grande heap leach mines.
The company earns revenue mainly from gold sales, with silver by-product credits. It reports under IFRS in US dollars, while most operating costs are in Canadian dollars and Mexican pesos, which it hedges with currency collars. Its mines carry royalties, including net smelter royalties of 1.5% at Young-Davidson, 3% at Magino and 2–3% at Island Gold, plus a 1% Mexican Extraordinary Mining Duty at Mulatos. It is listed on the TSX and NYSE under the symbol AGI.
Its growth pipeline includes:
- **Phase 3+ Shaft Expansion** at Island Gold, raising underground capacity to 2,400 tpd, with commissioning expected mid-2027.
- **IGD Expansion**, including the Magino mill expansion to 20,000 tpd in Q1 2028, targeting average production of 534,000 ounces per year over its initial 10 years at mine-site AISC of $1,025 per ounce.
- **Lynn Lake project** in Manitoba, targeting 186,000 ounces per year, with first production in the first half of 2029.
- **Puerto Del Aire (PDA)** underground project and mill in the Mulatos District, with mill completion targeted for mid-2027.
The company also explores at Qiqavik in Quebec. It targets roughly one million ounces of annual production by 2030 and employs more than 2,400 people.
Alamos sold its Turkish projects to Tümad for $470 million, paid in installments, and its Quartz Mountain option to Q-Gold Resources. It funds growth internally, backed by a $750 million revolving credit facility extended to August 2030. It pays a quarterly dividend and buys back shares under a Normal Course Issuer Bid. It is also retiring legacy gold hedges inherited with its acquisition of Argonaut Gold. Updated
