The first session after the Q3 2026 earnings report takes 10.9% off the stock. A sub-$3.50 handle keeps this retail favorite squarely in play.
Latest Activity
AMC Entertainment closed at $3.53, a fresh 52-week high and 7.14% above yesterday's peak, hours after the theater chain filed its Q3 2026 results with the SEC. The stock traded as low as $0.95 in March.
The largest revenue quarter in the chain's 106-year history still came in missing earnings expectations by a penny, with adjusted EBITDA of $347.5 million against $122.5 million a year ago. Management says October domestic box office ran about 35% above last year, with Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three still to come.
Q3 Free Cash Flow was $109.3 million, an improvement of more than $190 million year over year, bringing year-to-date Free Cash Flow to $124.7 million. This gives us confidence to expect that AMC will achieve the much-welcomed milestone of positive annual Free Cash Flow for the full year 2026.
Aron is putting a date on the turn: full-year 2026 as AMC's first year of positive free cash flow, with $124.7 million already banked through September. For a $3.2 billion theater chain that has leaned on dilution to stay afloat, cash generation changes the financing conversation.
The October domestic box office was up approximately 35% above the same month last year... We expect the remaining film slate to propel both the domestic and global box office to their highest full-year levels in seven years.
Aron is pointing a $3.2 billion exhibitor at its best full-year box office since before the pandemic, and the stock has already added 3.1% since he said it on the third quarter earnings call. The swing factor now is whether the rest of the 2026 slate delivers the attendance his guidance assumes.
Notably, in the third quarter of 2026, AMC Entertainment set all-time records for achieving the highest quarterly revenue ($1,711.1 million) and highest quarterly Adjusted EBITDA ($347.5 million) for any quarter in our company's 106-year history. It is the second quarter in a row that AMC set all-time records for revenue and Adjusted EBITDA.
Back-to-back record quarters put a box office recovery story behind a company still valued at just $3.2 billion, and the stock is up 3% since Aron spoke. Cinemark's own record run points to an industry-wide rebound.
On October 5, we completed a $3.97 billion refinancing covering approximately 97% of our debt, extending maturities to late 2031 and 2033, simplifying our capital structure, and reducing our cost of capital.
The bankruptcy clock just got pushed back five years for a $3.2 billion company carrying nearly $4 billion in debt. With almost the entire stack now due in 2031 and 2033, the dilution-or-default question that has defined this stock goes quiet until box office trends have time to prove themselves.

Nineteen stocks cleared fresh 52-week highs this week, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise led the pack by topping its prior peak by 9.2% at $69.33. ASE Technology, AMC, Moderna and a cluster of security names including CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks also broke out.
Three names in our 383-stock board closed with double-digit gains, led by Accenture's 15.6% jump to $211.97, a move that size is rare for a mega-cap consultant. The downside was far tamer, with AMC's 8.2% slide the worst of it.
Bloom Energy closed up 11.21% at $292.34, the only double-digit gain in a 383-name priority list. The other end was just as loud: AMC and DraftKings both gave up more than 7%.
