MP Materials Corp. (NYSE: MP) is a vertically integrated U.S. rare earth producer. Its operations span mining, processing, separation, metallization and permanent magnet manufacturing.
The company reports two segments:
- **Materials:** runs the Mountain Pass Rare Earth Mine and Processing Facility in California. It produces separated NdPr oxide and metal, rare earth concentrate, and other products such as SEG+ (samarium-europium-gadolinium and heavier elements).
- **Magnetics:** includes the Independence facility in Fort Worth, Texas. Independence produces magnetic precursor products and began manufacturing neodymium-iron-boron permanent magnets in December 2025. The segment also includes the planned 10X magnet facility.
Its products serve transportation and EVs, energy, robotics, defense and aerospace. The company has a strategic partnership with the U.S. Department of War that includes a price protection agreement generating PPA income. It also has a long-term magnet supply agreement with Apple and a magnet supply relationship with General Motors, whose qualification was completed in Q3 2026. Updated
