It reports two business types. Recycling & Waste (Group 1 and Group 2 reportable segments) covers residential, small-container and large-container collection, transfer stations, landfill disposal of municipal solid, construction and demolition, and special waste, and recycling processing with commodity sales. Environmental Solutions (Group 3) provides hazardous waste, special waste and field services.
Revenue is driven by pricing under open-market and restricted municipal contracts, fuel recovery fees, and collection and disposal volumes. The company relies on large, long-term collection, transfer and disposal contracts.
It grows through tuck-in acquisitions, investing about $1.1 billion year-to-date in 2026. It also holds unconsolidated equity method investments tied to its sustainability initiatives and pursues circularity and decarbonization goals.
