The Sherwin-Williams Company, founded in 1866, is a global manufacturer, developer, distributor, and seller of paint, coatings, and related products serving professional, industrial, commercial, and retail customers. The company operates through three reportable segments: the Paint Stores Group, which sells Sherwin-Williams branded products exclusively through a chain of more than 5,400 company-operated stores and branches to professional contractors and consumers; the Consumer Brands Group, which supplies branded and private-label products to mass merchandisers, home centers, independent paint dealers, and hardware stores; and the Performance Coatings Group, which provides highly-engineered coating solutions for the construction, industrial, packaging, and transportation markets in more than 120 countries.
