Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT) dropped about 10% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $60.04 against a 52-week high of $90.97. The stock closed at $66.73 on Tuesday night. Volume was about 9 times the daily average of around 8.6 million shares traded. The company had warned on earning this morning and investors were quick to react.
Zafgen Inc. (NASDAQ: ZFGN) dropped about 31% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low at $10.90 after closing at $15.75 on Tuesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $55.36. Share volume was more than 30 times the daily average of around 320,000. The company disclosed that a patient in its obesity drug study died. As of about 30 minutes before the closing bell, shares traded up more than 22% on the day at $19.26.
GoPro Inc. (NASDAQ: GPRO) dropped nearly 4.6% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $26.68 against a high of $87.50. The stock closed at $27.97 on Tuesday night. Volume was about 20% below the daily average of around 10.2 million shares traded. The company’s stock was downgraded from Buy to Neutral at Piper Jaffray today and the price target was cut from $54 to $25. Today’s low is an all-time low for the action camera maker.
Macy’s Inc. (NYSE: M) posted a new low on Wednesday. Shares dropped about 1.6% to a low of $49.48 from Tuesday’s closing price of $50.26. The stock’s 52-week high is $73.61. Volume was about equal to the daily average of around 5.2 million. The company no specific news today.
