Quick Read

  • XRP is back at $1.38 after failing to hold $1.50 post-CLARITY Act, Ethereum has slipped to $2,119 over the past week, and Solana trades at $84 after losing the $90 support level.

  • ChatGPT says XRP has delivered 10x twice in Q2 2017 (1,109%) and Q4 2017 (1,064%), while Ethereum has delivered 10x once in Q1 2016 (1,121%), and Solana has reached 10x once in Q1 2021 (1,191%).

  • XRP has the clearest historical path to 10x, but Solana and Ethereum can match it if Alpenglow and Glamsterdam both deliver on schedule.

XRP (CRYPTO: XRP) trades at $1.38 after losing the $1.40 support level despite momentum from the CLARITY Act clearing the Senate Banking Committee. Meanwhile, Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) trades at $2,119, while Solana (CRYPTO: SOL) trades at $84 after losing the $90 support level.

Crypto investors are asking which of these cryptos could hit 10x first. The answer depends on two things: each token’s historical performance during major bull cycles and how they respond to key catalysts. We analyzed the three altcoins to determine which of them could deliver 10x returns the fastest.

What Fueled Previous 10x Moves for XRP, Ethereum, and Solana?

ChatGPT’s analysis starts with each coin’s historical performance when they last reached 10x.

Coin 10x Rally Period
XRP 1,109%, 1,064% Q2 2017, Q4 2017
Ethereum 1,121% Q1 2016
Solana 1,191% Q1 2021

XRP had an explosive run in Q2 and Q4 of 2017 which was mainly influenced by a combination of retail demand for altcoins, expectations that crypto exchange was expanding which meant more market cap and eventually the bull run of 2017. Major exchange listings gave XRP wider visibility and accessibility, sustaining demand through quarters.

Meanwhile, Ethereum’s price rally in 2016 was driven by projects using Ethereum’s network as the primary fund raising platform, which transformed the network from a beta blockchain to a core infrastructure layer. That development triggered a 1,121% boost, with ETH rallying from $0.93 to $11.40.

On the other hand, Solana delivered a 1,191% gain in Q1 2021 as developers saw the network as a better alternative to Ethereum and executed projects on it due to its low gas fees and ability to accommodate high-volume DeFi activity. Decentralized Finance (DeFi) and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) were some of the major catalysts for Solana’s growth, pushing the coin upward from $1.50 to $19.51.

However, the setup in 2026 is different because crypto asset performance is driven by external factors like geopolitical tension and regulatory developments.

Factors that could Trigger 10x Rallies for XRP, Ethereum or Solana

ChatGPT projects that XRP could reach 10x faster than Ethereum and Solana, however, there are three catalysts that could impact the price surge for each of these tokens.

XRP

The CLARITY Act cleared the Senate Banking Committee in a 15-9 vote on May 14 and XRP rallied to $1.54 on the back of that development. A floor vote before the Memorial Day recess is unlikely—pushing the full Senate vote timeline into June.

A full Senate vote in June would improve expectations that the bill will get presidential approval before the White House deadline on July 4. If this happens, XRP would break above the $1.44-$1.45 sell wall which has capped its performance for months—with a further rally to $2 confirming its path to 10x.

Ethereum

Glamsterdam is Ethereum’s major protocol upgrade planned for H1 2026. The upgrade is set to improve the base layer’s efficiency, targeting a new gas limit increase from 60 million to 200 million per block after launch and a minimum throughput of 10,000 transactions per second.

If Ethereum’s Glamsterdam upgrade launches at the end of June, ETH could reclaim $2,300, with a further rally to $2,500. That bullish move would set the stage for a longer rally toward $5,000 and higher, putting ETH on a 10x path.

Solana

The Alpenglow upgrade is the biggest consensus overhaul in Solana’s history. On May 11, the upgrade began community testing, targeting block finality of around 100-150 milliseconds, an approximately 87x improvement on the current transaction time.

If testing moves smoothly and the upgrade timeline remains constant, Solana could break above $95, potentially reaching $100. That move could trigger selling pressure, which would cap Solana’s price move—unless the coin sees sustained demand. A sustained move above $100 opens the path toward $150, then $200, with a longer 10x runway to $840 if SOL captures the institutional flows currently rotating into ETH and BTC ETFs.

Which Crypto Will 10x Faster?

XRP is likely to reach 10x first—it has delivered 10x rallies twice in its history compared to once each for Ethereum and Solana. Moreso, the CLARITY Act gives it a near-term catalyst neither of the others has. Solana and Ethereum could still deliver massive returns, but their catalysts must align almost perfectly with sustained institutional flows to clear the same 10x bar.

The CLARITY Act, the Glamsterdam upgrade and the Alpenglow upgrade are a must-watch as they are the key drivers that could trigger a rally for each of these cryptos. How each of those key triggers play out would determine which coin hits 10x first.
