Spotify's subscriber engine keeps compounding and its margins keep climbing, so the question is no longer whether the stock can reach four figures but exactly when and what has to go right between now and that date.

Spotify (NYSE:SPOT | SPOT Price Prediction) will close at or above $1,000 per share on October 29, 2030. The first checkpoint on that path is its fourth-quarter 2026 earnings report, currently expected February 8, 2027. At $580.82, the stock needs a 72.17% gain to get there.

24/7 Wall St.’s base-case projection puts shares at $1,000.39 on that exact date, on a path that compounds at 14.52% a year through October 2031. Three trends from the October 22 earnings report support that pace.

Subscriber Growth Has Compounded Every Single Year

Spotify ended the third quarter with 306 million Premium subscribers, one million ahead of guidance, and 788 million monthly active users, up 11% year over year. Management guided to 316 million subscribers and 818 million MAUs for the fourth quarter.

The company has added 25 million subscribers or more every year since its 2018 listing, when it had 71 million. There is plenty of room left to grow: nearly 50% of Sweden pays for Spotify, compared with under 4% globally and less than 3% in emerging markets.

Margins Are Expanding as Spending Cools

Gross margin reached 33%, roughly 140 basis points higher year over year. Fourth-quarter guidance calls for 33.8% gross margin and €820 million in operating income, against €672 million in the third quarter. Revenue of $5.57 billion rose 16.3% and exceeded consensus by 11.97%.

EPS of $2.78 missed the $2.85 estimate after R&D jumped 35% on cloud and AI costs. Management said those costs “are moderating now in Q4 and into 2027.” Advertising also picked back up, growing 9% at constant currency after 3% in each of the first two quarters.

Cash Generation Funds Steady Buybacks

Spotify generated €3.2 billion in free cash flow over the past 12 months. It holds $9.9 billion in cash and has no debt other than lease liabilities. About $1.88 billion remained on its $3.5 billion buyback authorization as of September 30, 2026.

Analysts agree with the bull case: 8 strong buy, 24 buy, 7 hold and zero sell ratings. At 52 times trailing earnings, the valuation requires growth to keep growing, and the subscriber and margin trends show it is.

Key Dates to Put on Your Calendar

  • February 8, 2027 (not yet confirmed): Fourth-quarter results. Check for 316 million subscribers, 33.8% gross margin and initial 2027 commentary. Management said it was too early to give 2027 guidance.
  • Every quarterly report after that: Subscriber net adds and Premium ARPU, which rose 9% to €4.95 in the third quarter.
  • October 29, 2030: The prediction date.

Expect volatility along the way. Shares fell 12.43% on the day of the first-quarter 2026 report even though EPS beat estimates, and the stock is down 12.75% over the past year.

If subscriber growth stalls or AI spending keeps pressuring margins, the bear case points to $710.68 on that date and the prediction fails. Even so, the subscriber growth, expanding margins and cash on hand still point to $1,000 by October 29, 2030.
