Could XRP Ever Hit $1,000 as Ripple Becomes a U.S. National Trust Bank?

Ripple just secured a federal trust bank charter, sending XRP bulls dreaming of four-digit prices. But the math behind that dream reveals something that changes the conversation entirely.

Could XRP (CRYPTO:XRP) ever hit $1,000? This question has gained traction after the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) announced. They granted Ripple the final go-ahead to operate Ripple National Trust Bank. However, achieving a $1,000 price tag is a tall order, as it would require XRP to reach a market value of $63.4 trillion.

XRP trades at $1.32, up 2.0% in 24 hours. Despite this uptick, XRP has dropped 11.4% since the end of September and is currently 63.7% below its record high of $3.65, reached on July 17, 2025. In the last 90 days, XRP’s price has fluctuated between nearly $1 on August 16 and $1.57 on September 22.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse noted that this charter gives Ripple a federally supervised platform to support RLUSD, its dollar-backed stablecoin, and offer digital asset custody to corporate clients. Journalist Eleanor Terrett reported that Ripple now joins Circle, BitGo, and Fidelity Digital Assets as a national trust bank. The big question now is whether this will help XRP move toward the elusive $1,000 mark.

XRP Needs a $63.4 Trillion Market Value to Hit $1,000

For XRP to go from $1.32 to $1,000, it would need to rise about 758 times. With 63.4 billion XRP currently in circulation, a $1,000 price would imply a staggering market value of about $63.4 trillion. Currently, XRP’s market value stands at about $83.8 billion, ranking it fifth among all cryptocurrencies.

To put the $63.4 trillion figure in perspective, it’s about 23 times the entire crypto space’s total market value of $2.72 trillion. This number is also roughly 39 times Bitcoin’s market capitalization (CRYPTO: BTC), the leading cryptocurrency.

The gradual supply increase could widen this gap over time. Circulating supply refers to the tokens currently available for trading, and XRP’s supply remains well below its maximum of 100 billion because Ripple releases tokens from escrow in stages. As more tokens enter the market, keeping the price the same would raise the market value significantly.

If we consider ‘fully diluted valuation,’ which estimates the value if every token were circulating, this already stands at about $132 billion at a price of $1.32. To hit $1,000 with all 100 billion tokens out there would require a shocking $100 trillion valuation.

For comparison, a return to the previous record of $3.65 would give XRP a market value of around $231 billion today, while reaching $5 and $10 would result in valuations of approximately $317 billion and $634 billion, respectively. The $10 target would account for about 23% of the current crypto market.

Ripple’s Trust Charter and RLUSD on Robinhood Do Not Require Anyone to Buy XRP

The national trust charter lets Ripple manage clients’ assets, act as a fiduciary, and hold stablecoin reserves under federal oversight, but it doesn’t require retail clients to open accounts or borrow. While Ripple’s charter lays the groundwork for its operations, the demand for XRP is not guaranteed.

The OCC granted conditional approval in December 2025. At that time, XRP closed the year at $1.84 but has since fallen 28.3%. Custody services and RLUSD reserves could boost trust in Ripple’s network, but neither requires purchasing XRP.

RLUSD is expected to roll out on the Robinhood (NASDAQ: HOOD | HOOD Price Prediction) app by the end of 2026, introducing Ripple’s stablecoin to millions of retail users. However, each RLUSD transfer on the XRP Ledger incurs only a small XRP fee, meaning that increased stablecoin usage will not significantly drive demand for XRP.

XRP ETF Inflows Have Not Stopped a 50% Drop Over the Past Year

Spot ETFs are exchange-traded funds that are backed by the XRP they hold. As of October 26, U.S. XRP spot ETFs had amassed over $1.8 billion in total net inflows, despite seeing a net outflow of about $3.6 million on that day alone. The most successful single day for inflows in the past month reached around $8.2 million on October 8.

This $1.8 billion reflects the reality of ETF demand limits. As these funds attracted more investment, XRP has still declined by 49.9% over the past year, dropping from $2.63.

Can XRP Reach $1,000 After Ripple’s Trust Bank Approval?

In short, no. There’s currently no realistic pathway for XRP to reach $1,000 anytime soon. While Ripple’s charter, the ETFs, and the Robinhood launch do bolster Ripple’s operations, achieving a $63.4 trillion market value is far beyond the current crypto landscape. A more feasible long-term price range appears to be between $3.65 and $10, contingent on increased institutional adoption.

Price growth would need to start by breaking above the 50-day moving average of $1.40, then surpassing the September high of $1.57 and the record high of $3.65. If ETF outflows continue to rise, XRP may dip below its 200-day average of $1.28, potentially hitting the August low just shy of $1. A close above $1.57, with ETF inflows exceeding the October 8 high of $8.2 million, could indicate a stronger upward trend.
