XRP Analysis: Can XRP Hold $1.30 Support After Failing at $1.40 Again?

XRP keeps running into a wall just under $1.40, and now buyers are scrambling to defend a support level that has already cracked once this month. Whether that floor holds or gives way entirely depends on what happens in the…

XRP (CRYPTO: XRP) has again faced challenges at the $1.40 mark and is currently testing its $1.30 support. XRP peaked around $1.40 on October 21 but finished the session lower, and it trades at $1.33—a 2% decline over the last 24 hours.

Over the past two weeks, XRP has fluctuated between $1.25 and $1.43. It has dropped 13.2% over the past month but remains up 25.1% over the last 90 days.

Traders are focusing on $1.30 as a critical support level, similar to how they previously monitored the $1 mark. Buyers defended this level through mid-October, raising the question: can XRP hold above $1.30, or could recent setbacks push it down to $1.25?

Why XRP Keeps Stalling Just Under $1.40

Resistance occurs when sellers step in and prevent a price from rising any higher. For XRP, this resistance sits just below and just above $1.40, and two moving averages help explain the trend.

A moving average reflects the average closing price over a specific number of days. XRP’s 20-day moving average is currently $1.39, and the 50-day moving average is $1.41—both above the current trading price. This means many recent buyers are experiencing losses. When XRP reapproaches these levels, many tend to sell off in hopes of recouping their investments.

Selling pressure began on October 8, when XRP hit its two-week high of $1.43. The price then fell to $1.32, closing the day at $1.38. On October 9, XRP again reached $1.41 but closed at $1.39.

It briefly reclaimed $1.40, closing at $1.41 on October 11, but on October 12 it rose to $1.42 before falling to $1.34 at the close. On October 21, XRP tried again but fell short. The day’s high was just under $1.40, and it closed at $1.36 amid heavy trading volume during the rejection, suggesting sellers were active and in control.

How XRP Buyers Have Defended $1.30 Support

Support is the level where buyers step in to stop a price drop. From October 14 to October 20, XRP tested the $1.30 support almost every trading session. On October 15, it dipped to $1.28 but bounced back, closing at $1.33. That session saw the week’s heaviest trading volume, showing buyers were willing to step in near the $1.30 mark.

Although the floor has been tested, it did give way once. On October 17, XRP closed at $1.29; the next day, it fell to $1.25 before buyers pushed the price back to $1.31. On October 20, XRP slipped to $1.28, then closed at $1.33, with a spike in trading volume that set the stage for another attempt toward $1.40.

On October 22, XRP dipped again, hitting a low of $1.32. However, trading volume fell afterward, and the latest hourly bar closed at $1.33. This quieter trading environment suggests some short-term stability, although a rebound has yet to materialize.

Where XRP Could Find Support Below $1.30

The next significant support level below $1.30 is around $1.25. XRP hit its 14-day low at $1.25 on October 18 and also touched $1.27 on October 17. Buyers have stepped in multiple times in this area, holding the line between $1.25 and $1.30.

If XRP falls below $1.25, there is little to suggest strong buying interest, which could lead to more significant losses since XRP would then be trading below all recent support levels.

Can XRP Hold $1.30 Support After Failing at $1.40?

In the short term, XRP is likely to hold its $1.30 support. Buyers have pushed the price back above this level on October 18 and October 20 after dips. However, upward movement appears limited until XRP climbs above its moving averages. A recovery would require XRP to close above $1.30, reclaim its $1.39 20-day average, and close above its $1.41 50-day average, putting the $1.43 high back within reach.

If the $1.30 support fails, XRP might drop to the $1.25 area. For XRP holders, watch the $1.25 level, since a daily close below it would signal a failure of October support and a potential shift in momentum.
