Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) is back with some dirt cheap offers in smartphones, and some of these may seem to be good to be true.  While this may include Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE: VZ), AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T), and Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE: S), you will notice that there is not a single Apple Inc. (NYSE: AAPL) mention.  That is simple to explain: the iPhone is being targeted here and it looks like just about every one of these is an Android platform from Google Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG).

The online mega-sales giant is offering these (and other) smartphones for as little as $0.01 for the phone (and yes, there are likely asterisks if you already have a phone and an existing plan):

  • HTC ThunderBolt 4G Android Phone (Verizon Wireless)
  • Motorola DROID X2 Android Phone (Verizon Wireless)
  • Samsung DROID CHARGE 4G Android Phone (Verizon Wireless)
  • Samsung Stratosphere 4G Android Phone (Verizon Wireless)
  • LG Revolution 4G Android Phone (Verizon Wireless)
  • Motorola DROID 3 Global Android Phone (Verizon Wireless)
  • Casio G’zOne Commando Android Phone (Verizon Wireless)
  • Pantech Breakout 4G Android Phone (Verizon Wireless)
  • Motorola Atrix 4G Android Phone (AT&T)
  • HTC Inspire 4G Android Phone (AT&T)
  • HTC Inspire 4G Android Phone, Red (AT&T)
  • Samsung Infuse 4G Android Phone (AT&T)
  • AT&T Impulse 4G Android Phone (AT&T)
  • HTC Status Android Phone, Mauve/White (AT&T)
  • Samsung Nexus S 4G Android Phone (Sprint)
  • LG Marquee Android Phone (Sprint)
  • Samsung Transform Android Phone (Sprint)
  • Motorola XPRT Android Phone (Sprint)
  • Samsung Replenish Android Phone, Blue (Sprint)
  • Sanyo Zio Android Phone (Sprint)
  • T-Mobile Comet Android Phone (T-Mobile)
  • Who says Christmas has to wait until December 25?
