About Cava

CAVA Group, Inc. owns and operates CAVA, a Mediterranean fast-casual restaurant brand. Guests choose chef-curated or build-your-own bowls and pitas from more than 17 billion possible ingredient combinations, including a variety of proteins, vegetables, signature dips such as Crazy Feta, and house-made beverages.

As of the fiscal third quarter of 2026, the company operated 500 company-owned CAVA Restaurants, including Hybrid Kitchens with centralized catering capabilities, across 31 states and Washington, D.C. It employs more than 15,000 team members.

Revenue is generated almost entirely through its single CAVA restaurant segment. Digital Orders, placed through the CAVA app, the CAVA website, catering, and third-party marketplace and native delivery, accounted for 38.5% of CAVA Revenue in the quarter. The company also operates Digital Kitchens and restaurants under license agreements.

CAVA's growth model centers on rapid new-unit expansion, targeting 76 to 78 net new restaurants in fiscal 2026, alongside AUVs of about $3.1 million. Its business includes manufacturing and supply chain operations, including production facilities. Updated

Same-restaurant sales slowed to 3.1% from 9.0% last quarter, with a Cyclospora outbreak and fresh-produce jitters costing roughly 150 basis points, and both lines missed expectations. Management still raised full-year comp guidance to 6.0% to 7.0% and lifted its opening target to 76 to 78 restaurants, a bet the slowdown is temporary.

Quarterly EPS — reported vs estimate
In the third quarter, despite broader industry pressures, we continued to gain market share, expand our footprint, and see strong performance from our new restaurants.

Cava's CEO is claiming share gains while the broader fast casual category slows, a direct rebuttal to the restaurant recession narrative hitting peers. New restaurant performance is the tell investors should track from here.

Same Restaurant Sales grew 3.1%, CAVA Revenue increased 22.1%, and we opened our 500th restaurant ahead of schedule.

Positive comps are getting rare in fast casual, where Sweetgreen keeps sliding and Chipotle cut its forecast, so Schulman's third quarter scorecard sets Cava apart on growth and unit expansion. The 500th store landing ahead of schedule says the buildout pace is holding.

As we look ahead, we will continue investing in our teams and our guests, strengthening the lasting relationships that support durable growth.

Schulman is signaling more spending on labor and guest experience at a $7.2 billion chain, which means margin pressure before it means traffic gains. Investors looking for a near-term profitability inflection just heard the opposite priority on the third quarter call.
