Lithium Americas Corp. is a development-stage lithium mining company focused on building Thacker Pass, located in Humboldt County, northern Nevada. Thacker Pass hosts the largest known measured lithium resource (Measured and Indicated) in the world. Phase 1 is designed for nominal production capacity of 40,000 tonnes per year of battery-quality lithium carbonate, with mechanical completion targeted for late 2027. The project is owned through a joint venture between Lithium Americas (62% interest) and General Motors Holdings LLC (38% interest). Project financing for Phase 1 includes a $2.23 billion loan from the U.S. Department of Energy, along with strategic investments from GM and Orion Resource Partners. The company is pre-revenue and currently in the construction phase, with over $1.8 billion in project costs capitalized to date. Lithium Americas' shares are listed on both the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol LAC. Updated
