Buy Any Marvell Technology Pullbacks When They Happen

Marvell just posted record revenue and raised guidance, yet its stock sits nearly 20% off its highs while AI sentiment drags it lower. Three upcoming catalysts could determine whether this gap closes or widens.

Marvell Technology (NASDAQ:MRVL | MRVL Price Prediction) trades at $264.21, and pullbacks have tested the stock’s momentum. A sector-wide slide in AI hardware names this week, after a 214.95% one-year run, makes this the moment to settle on a view.

Marvell designs custom AI chips, optical interconnects and Ethernet switches for hyperscale data centers. Data Center revenue hit $2.17 billion last quarter, up 46% year over year and now 79% of sales. Record total revenue of $2.739 billion exceeded estimates. Management also raised guidance and expanded its custom silicon deal with Google parent Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOGL), which includes a warrant for up to 7% of Marvell’s shares tied to revenue milestones.

Accelerating Growth Drives a Wave of Estimate Hikes

Third-quarter revenue guidance of $3.15 billion implies more than 50% growth at the midpoint, with Data Center up roughly 75%. Fiscal 2027 revenue is now expected near $12 billion, and fiscal 2028 growth was raised to approximately 50%. Management expects the custom business to more than double in fiscal 2028.

Analysts have raised estimates. The fiscal 2028 EPS consensus rose to $6.7609 from $6.2425 a month ago, with 33 upward revisions against one cut. A PEG ratio of 1.387 suggests growth justifies the premium, and the upcoming Investor Day should measure the Google opportunity beyond fiscal 2028.

Premium Multiple Leaves Little Room for Stumbles

Shares trade at 83x trailing earnings with a beta of 2.253, so any wobble in AI spending hits hard. A handful of hyperscalers drive revenue, and customers could build more silicon in-house. Third-quarter non-GAAP gross margin guidance of 57.5% to 58.5% reflects mix pressure from the custom ramp.

The $120 billion cumulative Google figure depends on milestones, and the warrant means dilution if those milestones are hit. Stock-based compensation rose to $207.6 million in the first quarter from $142.1 million a year earlier, alongside $4.963 billion of long-term debt.

Investor Day Detail Could Decide the Next Move

Recent beats were narrow, with revenue just 1.20% above consensus. The stock still sits 19.9% below its $329.8 52-week high, a sign that enthusiasm has already cooled once. Investors will look for fiscal 2029 custom targets and confirmation that the business delivers $1.05 to $1.15 in third-quarter EPS while communications revenue dips.

Wall Street Still Sees Upside After a Triple-Digit Run

The consensus target of $290.97 implies 10.1% upside from $264.21 across 44 analysts. Targets are one data point, and they can lag fast-moving stocks.

Marvell is up 211.36% year to date versus 11.81% for the S&P 500. Over the past month it gained 24.83% while the index slipped 0.6%. The forward P/E stands at 62x. Runs like this are what we reverse-engineered in a free playbook on spotting the next Nvidia-style winner early.

Custom Silicon Scaling Sets Up Three Key Catalysts

Marvell trades at $264.21.

The path higher runs through three catalysts: Investor Day details on fiscal 2029 custom revenue, a third-quarter report that confirms growth above 50%, and operating margin reaching the 38% to 40% target range in the fourth quarter. Each one helps earnings catch up to the multiple.

Volatility comes with the stock. Selloffs driven by sector sentiment, like this week’s slide in AI names, have pressured shares of a business whose estimates keep moving up.

The thesis breaks if hyperscalers cut capital spending, custom ramps slip, or margins fall below guidance. Keep an eye on gross margin and Data Center growth each quarter.

Rising estimates and a expanding custom pipeline keep fundamentals at the center of the Marvell story as sentiment-driven dips come and go.
