Saturated Skies, Deep Pockets: Why T-Mobile’s $18B Cash Machine Faces Its Toughest Valuation Test Yet on Oct. 28
T-Mobile generates nearly $19 billion in free cash flow yet its stock sits near a 52-week low, battered by SpaceX satellite rumors and a surprise post-earnings selloff. Whether Oct. 28 earnings restore confidence or deepen the rout depends on two…
T-Mobile (NASDAQ:TMUS | TMUS Price Prediction) reports third-quarter results on Oct. 28 with shares at $146.54, down 26.25% year to date. The company generates a lot of cash. This report shows whether that cash can steady a falling stock.
Record Margins, Shrinking Share Price
Last quarter delivered revenue of $22.79B, up 7.8%, and EPS of $2.99. Core Adjusted EBITDA rose 12% to $9.54B, with margin expanding to 50.2%. Management raised the Adjusted Free Cash Flow outlook to $18.4B to $18.8B and increased the 2026 shareholder return authorization to $18.2B.
Shares still fell 10.75% on earnings day. Then on Friday they slipped 7.71% after reports that SpaceX is holding cell tower talks for Starlink Mobile (Forbes). That follows SpaceX’s $2.9 billion purchase of Grain Management’s 800MHz spectrum. The stock now trades near its 52-week low of $146.32 at about 18x forward earnings.
Wall Street Expects Double-Digit EPS Growth
| Metric | Consensus | Year-Ago Actual | Implied YoY Growth |

| Q3 2026 Revenue | $23.14B | $21.957B | 5.4% |
| FY 2026 EPS | $10.9535 | $9.72 | 12.7% |
| FY 2026 Revenue | $94.33B | $88.31B | 6.8% |
Churn, Pricing and the Starlink Question
Management already lowered the bar for Q3 account growth. It guided to about 250,000 postpaid net account additions, down from 277,000 in Q2, because a rate-plan update should temporarily raise account churn. Postpaid phone churn will be my main focus. It was 0.85% in Q2 versus 0.89% a year ago.
The other side of that trade is pricing. Postpaid ARPA reached $152.91, and the CFO said full-year growth should land “more towards the 3% ARPA growth”. Management also targeted Q3 service revenue of about $19.3 billion and Core Adjusted EBITDA near $9.4 billion, up 8%.
Broadband needs another strong quarter after Q2 net additions in the upper 400,000 range. The company is still aiming for 15 million fixed wireless customers by 2030.
Pay attention to how leadership addresses SpaceX. In July, management called direct-to-device satellite a complementary, table-stakes service that made up for 0.0002% of network usage. That was before SpaceX started talking to tower owners. Updated comments on that threat, plus how management balances buybacks against spectrum auctions in 2027 and 2028, could move the stock as much as the headline numbers.
Cash Has to Outrun the Fear
T-Mobile carries $86.9B in debt and trades at a forward multiple that has compressed sharply over the past year. Steady free cash flow is the strongest answer it has to investors worried about saturation and satellites. If management confirms the $18.4B to $18.8B cash target and keeps churn under control, the selloff starts to look overdone. If it can’t, Starlink fears will keep weighing on the stock.
