XRP (CRYPTO:XRP) surged by 46% over the past three months, reaching a price of $1.53 as of September 27, 2026. This impressive increase has sparked renewed discussions about its price targets. So, just how high can XRP go before the end of 2026?

Despite its recent gains, XRP is still down 17% for the year and has declined by 46% compared to last year, indicating that it has only regained part of its previous losses.

The comeback for XRP has been notable, with a 42% rise over just the last two months. August and September were crucial in driving this quarter’s performance, as buyers returned to the market after a challenging year.

However, momentum has diminished recently, with XRP’s price only increasing by 10% in the past month. It reached $1.66 on September 23 but has struggled to break above its August 22 high of $1.70. While XRP is still on an upward trajectory, the pace may slow considerably in the last quarter of 2026 compared to the summer.

Every 10 Cents on XRP Adds About $6 Billion to Its Market Value

Currently, XRP’s market capitalization stands at roughly $97 billion, based on its price and an estimated circulation of around 63 billion coins. For every 10-cent increase in price, XRP adds about $6.3 billion to its market value. This means that if XRP reaches $2, its market cap would rise to around $126 billion.

It’s important to note that Ripple continues to release new XRP into circulation, up to 1 billion coins from escrow each month. Typically, the company locks back up 60% to 80% of these coins, but hundreds of millions still enter the market monthly. Buyers must absorb these additional coins before any significant price climb can occur.

For XRP to rise significantly, there needs to be either a transfer of funds from other cryptocurrencies or an influx of new money into the entire crypto market, which is currently valued at $2.9 trillion.

XRP started 2026 priced at about $1.85, meaning it needs to climb roughly 21% to finish the year on a positive note. A year ago, it was trading around $2.82, leaving many investors still facing losses.

Many holders often decide to sell when prices return to their purchase levels, which can limit upward momentum at certain price points. XRP’s first challenge lies at $1.70, the peak from August, about 11% higher than its current price, followed by another resistance level near $1.85.

Even institutions like Standard Chartered have revised their 2026 price target for XRP, lowering it from $8 to $2.80. This revised target still represents an 83% increase from the current price, suggesting that even optimistic forecasts have tempered.

How High Can XRP Go in 2026?

Realistically, XRP could aim for a price range between $1.75 and $2 by the year’s end, translating to a 14% to 31% increase from its current value. Surpassing $2 may require substantial growth in the entire crypto market, which is yet to be seen. To reach these targets, XRP must first break through $1.70 and then $1.85, where earlier buyers may be motivated to sell.

If XRP can close above $1.75 by the end of November, it could open the door to further gains, possibly bringing $3 into question for the future. However, if it slips below $1.50, where buyers stepped in on September 26, this could indicate that the recent rally has peaked, leaving XRP to finish 2026 below $1.53.
