Compañia de Minas Buenaventura S.A.A. is Peru's largest publicly traded precious and base metals mining company and a major holder of mining rights in Peru. The Company is engaged in the exploration, mining development, processing, and trade of gold, silver, and other base metals through wholly-owned mines and joint venture projects. Buenaventura currently operates several mines in Peru, including wholly-owned operations at Orcopampa, Uchucchacua, Julcani, Tambomayo, and La Zanja, as well as El Brocal and Coimolache. The Company's San Gabriel mine is in ramp-up phase, contributing to growing gold production. Buenaventura also owns a 19.58% stake in Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde, a major Peruvian copper producer operated in partnership with Freeport-McMoRan Inc. and Sumitomo Corporation.
