Steve Jobs Dead At 56

The man who will be remembered by many as the greatest American CEO, Steve Jobs, is dead at 56. He was the founder, and until recently chief executive of Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL)

He pulled the company from near-failure in his second time as CEO–in the late 1990s when he created and launched in succession the iPod, iPhone, and iPad. Apple also made a large series of upgrades to its Mac. Jobs also created the world largest music store–iTunes, and the world’s largest smartphone application store–the Apple App store.

Apple is currently the most valuable company in the world by market cap
