A steady premarket seller took NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA | NVDA Price Prediction) from its post-earnings pop back toward the flatline overnight, even as CEO Jensen Huang used his Mad Money slot hours earlier to signal the company is buying back even more of its own stock.

NVIDIA closed at $209.66 on Aug 26 and traded as high as about $226 after the release. Jim Cramer began posting on X at 7:04 a.m. ET that a persistent seller had been hitting the stock from $225 down to $223 since 4:15 a.m., then flagged it being banged down to $220 by 7:37 a.m. By 8:27 a.m., Cramer said “NVDA makes stand as it shakes off Politco story about tarrifs”. Shares changed hands near $222.76 by 8:45 a.m.

Set those moves against the numbers. Q2 FY27 revenue landed at $96.22 billion, up 105.85% year over year, on non-GAAP EPS of 2.22. NVIDIA returned $26 billion to shareholders in the quarter and still has $99.0 billion left on the authorization. Guidance for Q3 is $108.0 billion, plus or minus 2%, and Huang told Cramer FY28 revenue should grow approximately 70% versus a Street model closer to 45%.

The profit angle: on Mad Money, Huang said NVIDIA bought back 60% last quarter and will increase buybacks with next year’s free cash flow (the base for “60%” was not specified on air). Keep an eye on whether the stock holds above the pre-earnings close as the tariff headline gets sorted, because a $99 billion authorization behind a supply-constrained 70% grower is the setup buyers want to press.

NVDA price scenario

NVDA last traded at $226.11, up 7.85% on the session and 12.55% year to date.
