Rocket Lab (NASDAQ:RKLB | RKLB Price Prediction) will close at or above $100 on or before September 30, 2027, carried by Neutron’s first flight and the re-rating that follows it.

Shares trade at $60.22, so this call requires a 66% gain. The first checkpoint is the Q3 2026 earnings report, expected November 9 after the close. The company has not confirmed that date yet.

Neutron Flips the Cash Story

Management says Neutron production still lines up with delivery to the launch pad in Q4 2026. The Archimedes engines have now logged more than 400 hot fires.

Chief Financial Officer Adam Spice called the first successful Neutron flight the key turning point for cash generation, with adjusted EBITDA expected to turn positive in the following quarter.

Neutron’s launch price is set at $50 million to $55 million, and Spice said, “Right now, the view is that we see more upside to ASPs rather than downside.” The adjusted EBITDA loss has already narrowed to $8.8 million from $27.6 million a year earlier.

Record Backlog Funds the Thesis

Backlog reached $2.36 billion, up 137% year over year. About 45.5% of it is expected to turn into revenue within 12 months. As of August, Rocket Lab had already signed over $1 billion in new Q3 contracts, including an $816M Space Development Agency award, the largest in company history.

Q3 revenue guidance of $250M to $265M follows Q2 revenue of $234.07 million, which rose 62%. Chief Executive Peter Beck summed up demand this way: “Launch has never been so constrained.”

This Stock Has Already Traded Above $100

After the Q1 2026 beat, shares closed at $105.47, a 34.22% gain in one session. The 52-week high is $151. The consensus analyst target is $102.15, with 4 strong buy, 12 buy, 4 hold and 0 sell ratings.

The recent pullback of -16.58% over one month brought the price down while the fundamentals kept improving.

Key Dates for Retirement Investors

  • November 9: Watch whether Q3 revenue lands inside the $250M to $265M range, whether backlog rises above $2.36 billion, and whether Neutron stays on track for the pad.
  • First Neutron flight: Management describes a “1, 3, 5” increase in launch rate after the first flight.
  • Mid-2027: The Iridium Communications (NASDAQ:IRDM) deal is expected to close in mid-2027, which adds a constellation with more than $870 million in annual revenue.

Beta of 2.94 means the path to $100 will be volatile. If Neutron is delayed deep into 2027, or Rocket Lab goes back to equity markets after raising $1.53 billion in ATM funds during H1 2026, the $100 date moves later.

Even so, record backlog, Neutron’s pricing and a stock that has held above $100 before make September 30, 2027 the date.
