The second and third most popular boy names in the state in 2020 were Noah and Mateo, respectively. About 1.23% of boys born in the state, or 2,065 baby boys, were named Noah. About 1.01%, or 1,701 newborn boys, were named Mateo.
The most popular girl’s name in Texas in 2020 was Olivia. The name is of Latin origin, derived from the word “oliva,” meaning “olive tree.”
As many as 151,520 girls were born in Texas last year. Of them, 1,912 baby girls, or 1.26%, were given the name Olivia.
The second and third most popular girl names in the state in 2020 were Emma and Camila, respectively. About 1.21% of girls born in Texas, or 1,831 baby girls, were named Emma. About 1.14%, or 1,734 newborn girls, were named Camila.
