Weyerhaeuser Company is one of the world's largest private owners of timberlands, owning or controlling more than 10 million acres of timberlands in the United States and managing additional public timberlands under long-term licenses in Canada. The company operates as a real estate investment trust (REIT) and is one of the largest manufacturers of wood products in North America, producing structural lumber, oriented strand board, engineered wood products (including I-joists, solid section, and medium density fiberboard), and softwood plywood. Weyerhaeuser also operates business lines in product distribution, climate solutions (including conservation easements and carbon credits), real estate, and energy and natural resources.
