About AMC Entertainment

AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc. is the largest movie exhibition company in the United States, Europe, and the world, operating approximately 850 theatres with 9,500 screens globally. AMCAMC Entertainment

$2.97
-10.51%open $3.32

A 10.5% intraday drop to $2.97 puts the theater chain back under $3 and shaves a chunk off a market cap already down to $2.7 billion. Whether that level holds into the close is the thing to watch.

AMCAMC Entertainment
New 52-week high$3.29+4.4% vs prior high · 2025-10-02

AMC Entertainment closed at $3.29, a fresh 52-week high and 4.44% above its prior annual peak set last October. The theater chain has more than tripled off its sub-$1 low from March, putting its market cap back near $2.9 billion.

$3.22
+10.93%open $2.91

A 10.93% intraday jump to $3.22 adds roughly a tenth to a $2.9 billion market cap in a single session. Double digit days are rare enough here that the close is worth watching for whether any of it holds.

Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer 9/24/26

  • Cramer pushes back on index-fund supremacy, calling the absolutist version of it wrong
  • Still recommends 50% of savings in an S&P 500 fund as a hedge against your own mistakes
  • Argues the S&P holds far fewer than 500 good stocks, so you buy the bad with the good
  • Caller questions on portfolio structure for young investors, 529 plans, and retirement vs. mad money

Put half in an index fund as insurance, the other half in individual names you have actually done the homework on. Cramer's case is that an S&P 500 fund gives you 8% to 10% a year and mediocrity alongside the winners, which is why he says it will not make you rich on its own.
