SOXLheating up fast

QCOMsouring fast

AppLovin is pulling in more chatter than the rest of the board combined, with 2,839 comments and traders leaning bullish. Memory and chip names like Micron, AMD and CoreWeave have the crowd divided, while leveraged semis are heating up fast and Qualcomm talk is souring.

What Happened to Tech, Semis, and AI Stocks and Why Have They Been Crashing Lately?

This is psychology/social engineering mixed with algorithms designed to take profits in this zero sum game. Yes some of these deserve to crash hard as they are not sustainable, but a lot of what is going down has absolutely no reason for it to.

467 comments on one post asking why semis and AI names are halving shows retail is still hunting for a reason. "It seems like a buying opportunity" carries no weight when you cannot name what changed.

Regular session
$682.79
-9.39%open $753.53

A 9.39% slide to $682.79 from a $753.53 open takes roughly $70 billion off a $772 billion memory giant in a single session. Moves this size are rare for a megacap chipmaker, so the next few closes set the tone.

Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer 11/3/26

  • Cramer calls the mega caps millstones: Nasdaq rose 0.83% while the Dow fell 197 points
  • Strong after-hours results from AMD and Arista Networks as proof non-Magnificent-Seven tech can lead
  • Oracle's $10 billion block priced at $116 and traded to $126, a sign buyers see a floor in tech
  • Wants a crescendo washout before committing more; Apple's reaction and a Palantir selloff weighed

The leadership baton is being passed to second-tier data center names, and Cramer would rather own companies with clean balance sheets than the big caps issuing debt and equity to stay in the AI race. He is not calling a bottom yet: without a high-volume reversal day, he keeps money elsewhere.

Google is keeping the AI trade alive - CAPEX 2027 increases significantly from 2026

Watching reddit continually crash out over AI only for companies to invest more heavily into it coupled with market hitting several new highs the past couples years has been peak entertainment.

Alphabet guided 2026 capex to $195 billion to $205 billion and said 2027 goes higher, which keeps the AI buildout trade funded for another year. The debate in the thread is whether that spending ever earns its return, or just keeps the chip suppliers paid.

  • TELTE Connectivity$211.87-6.0%
  • GSKGSK$48.05-5.7%
  • STXSeagate Technology$633.24-5.2%

Vertiv's 11.5% jump tops the open, and the spread to Boston Scientific at the bottom runs better than 21 points. Hardware names fill both lists, so owning the sector is no guarantee of being on the right side today.

Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer 10/27/26

  • Cramer rejects the AI all-clear despite Broadcom arranging $63 billion in financing for Anthropic compute
  • Meta's $25 billion equity raise was five times oversubscribed, but the $60 billion at-the-market program worries him
  • CoreWeave bonds reaching a 15% yield flagged as the sector's unresolved weak spot
  • Caller questions on Micron volatility and Revolution Medicines' pancreatic cancer drug

The bull case for data centers today rested on financing rather than profits, and Cramer wants to hear a customer say the chips are minting money before calling it clear. He expects Meta's at-the-market selling to weigh on the stock as supply hits at the wrong moments, with borrowing costs into a Fed decision the swing factor for everything levered to the buildout.

Custom HBM base dies moving to a 3nm logic node means TSMC captures content inside every memory stack Nvidia buys, and Samsung's internal foundry review is the swing factor for who makes it.

Samsung will reportedly use TSMC’s $TSM 3nm node for base dies for Nvidia’s $NVDA next-gen custom NVHBM chips, though Samsung is also said to be evaluating if its internal foundry could handle manufacturing. $MU
