Iridium Communications Inc. operates the world's only truly global mobile satellite network, providing voice, data, messaging, positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT), and aircraft surveillance services anywhere on Earth. Following its July 2026 acquisition of Aireon, the company also operates the world's only space-based Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) air traffic surveillance system, delivering integrated communications, navigation, and surveillance solutions for airlines and air navigation service providers. Iridium is a significant provider of satellite Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity, serving over 2.1 million commercial IoT subscribers, and is advancing direct-to-device (D2D) communications based on open standards. The U.S. government is the company's largest single customer, primarily through the Enhanced Mobile Satellite Services (EMSS) contract with the U.S. Space Force. Iridium serves aviation, maritime, government, industrial, and consumer markets through an ecosystem of more than 500 technology and distribution partners. The company has agreed to be acquired by Rocket Lab Corporation, with the transaction expected to close by mid-2027. Updated
