About Whirlpool

Whirlpool Corporation (NYSE: WHR) is a home appliance company and the only major U.S.-based manufacturer of kitchen and laundry appliances. The company designs, manufactures, and markets major domestic appliances (MDA) and small domestic appliances (SDA) through an iconic brand portfolio including Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir, Maytag, Amana, Brastemp, Consul, and InSinkErator. Whirlpool operates through three reportable segments: MDA North America, MDA Latin America, and SDA Global. Following its portfolio transformation — which included divesting its European major domestic appliance business to a joint entity with Arcelik in 2024 and deconsolidating its India business in late 2025 — approximately 90% of the company's revenue is now generated in the Americas. In 2025, Whirlpool reported approximately $16 billion in annual net sales with approximately 41,000 employees and 35 manufacturing and technology research centers globally. The company recently completed a significant capital structure overhaul, including a $2 billion asset-based lending facility and $2 billion in secured bonds, and issued mandatory convertible preferred stock to strengthen its balance sheet. Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer 9/30/26

  • Cramer calls housing frozen: the 30-year national average at 7.34% versus 3% five years ago
  • Lennar down 20% and KB Home down 17% year to date; Toll Brothers holds up on 25% cash buyers
  • Whirlpool suspended its dividend; Home Depot and Lowe's both hit 52-week lows
  • IPO and M&A pipelines stalled too, with Oura shelving a $2.2 billion offering

Mortgage rates at multi-decade affordability lows are draining builders, appliance makers and the home-improvement aisles at once, so holders are really running a single trade. Cramer says the group does not recover until the war ends, oil retreats and rate hikes come off the table.
