A 4.20% slide to $167.68 wipes roughly $28.7 billion off a $684 billion megacap, a rare single-session move for one of the market's steadiest large caps. Moves this size here usually reset the whole energy complex's tone.

The biggest US refiner saying diesel is where the system is tightest points to fatter distillate margins for anyone with refining capacity, and higher fuel costs for everyone else.

We're increasing production while improving efficiency - the result of years of consistent and disciplined investment and execution excellence. On the U.S. Gulf Coast, investments such as our Beaumont refinery expansion have contributed to an increase in our distillate production by approximately 40% since 2019.
Exxon is adding diesel barrels into the tightest diesel market in years, with the IEA warning the global crunch drags into 2027. The Beaumont expansion is why its Gulf Coast distillate volumes keep climbing while rivals shutter capacity.
Quarter after quarter, the evidence of a stronger business builds. We're improving both the quality of our portfolio and the ability to optimize around it. Advantaged investments, technology, and $16.9 billion in structural cost savings since 2019 are expanding our earnings power. These are lasting improvements, not simply the result of favorable prices and margins.
Woods is making the case that Exxon's earnings power now survives a weaker oil tape, with EIA forecasting lower crude prices into 2026 and 2027. For holders of a $753.7 billion major, the cost base is the variable management actually controls.
Exxon Mobil's second 52-week high in a week, $183.21, clears the October 16 mark by 2.36% and extends a run that has added roughly $70 a share since late October 2025. A $753.3 billion megacap moving like this is doing real work for index holders.
A $4.5 billion refining tailwind flagged ahead of Q3 results resets the bar for Exxon and the whole energy complex.

Cramer is pulling money toward consumer staples, retailers and oils while the data center complex cracks, and he is framing Schwab's selloff on AI-agent worries as a repeat of the 2023 banking scare that proved a buying opportunity. For anyone concentrated in AI hardware, the Oracle half-sell is the clearest sell discipline he offered all episode.
Exxon Mobil cleared its March 30 peak with a 52-week high at $172.15. The major has spent six months stuck below that line and just broke through.
