This week the analysts commented on the confirmation of Jeff Sessions as U.S. Attorney General:

Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions was this week confirmed as the new U.S. Attorney General (AG). Sessions’ previous public expressions of antipathy toward state-legal cannabis has been discussed extensively … Overall, prognostications as to the policy direction of the Trump administration appear at this point to be fruitless, given the arbitrary and chaotic conduct of the executive branch in the period since the inauguration. Time will tell whether Sessions will employ the power of his office to enforce the federal Controlled Substances Act (CSA), under which cannabis remains illegal and designated as a Schedule I substance.
