Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NASDAQ: AMD) had a short interest decrease to 106.85 million shares. The previous level was 110.35 million, and it compared to the late July level of 157.66 million, easily the highest in the past 52 weeks. Shares of AMD closed Tuesday at $3.66, in a 52-week range of $1.61 to $3.99.
Qualcomm Inc. (NASDAQ: QCOM) saw its short interest decrease to 13.62 million, compared to the previous period, in which 16.75 million shares were reported short. Qualcomm shares closed Tuesday at $52.91, in a 52-week range of $42.24 to $71.32.
Applied Materials Inc. (NASDAQ: AMAT) short interest increased to 14.66 million shares. The previous reading was 14.36 million. The current reading is the second-lowest of the year. Shares closed Tuesday at $21.27, in a 52-week range of $14.25 to $21.67.
Micron Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: MU) saw its short interest decrease to 65.52 million shares from the previous reading of 69.82 million. Shares of Micron closed Tuesday at $11.51, in a 52-week range of $9.31 to $29.25.
SanDisk Corp. (NASDAQ: SNDK) short interest decreased slightly for the mid-month settlement date. The most recent reading was 14.65 million shares, compared to the previous 14.93 million. Shares closed Tuesday at $75.79, in a 52-week range of $44.28 to $78.83.
Broadcom Ltd. (NASDAQ: AVGO), formerly Avago Technologies, saw its short interest increase to 5.29 million shares from the previous level of 5.04 million. Shares closed Tuesday at $150.76, in a 52-week range of $100.00 to $159.65.
