Troubled HTC Launches New Smartphone

HTC was the hottest smartphone company in the world not long ago. Its recent earnings and manufacturing figures show it has lost some of its competitive edge. It has been badly damaged by the success of Samsung, and the Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPhone powerhouse.

In an effort to regain some of its success, it has release a new 4G LTE smartphone. It has some feature not found on competing models. But, these may not be enough to get it back on track.

The company reported as it released  the HTC OneX that the product will

Quickly bypass the lock-screen with instant access and always get the shot with a shutter that never delays. You can even snap a picture while shooting HD video

In other words, the user can take a picture while taking a video.

And

Entertainment is delivered quicker and smoother than ever thanks to a super-fast LTE network connection. With this clean, minimalist phone design, you still get a pixel-packed 4.7-inch HD screen. Then there’s the amazing camera that captures every moment with crisp, beautiful photos.

Those are nifty features, but they may not be enough to recapture consumer interest–and, the consumer may not even understand how the features work–at least not those who are less than sophisticated about all the new features smartphones offer
