China Loves Its Pirates

China thinks that the US is being too tough on it by taking complaints about piracy of films and software to the World Trade Organzation.

But according to Reuters: "Underscoring the problem, DVDs claiming to contain the latest Hollywood blockbuster movie "Spider-Man 3" are already on sale on Beijing streets, almost two weeks before it officially hits the screens in the United States."

Why, there are even contest in China in which the winner is the student who makes the best short film about the "ills" of piracy. The winner gets to go to Hollywood, where he can steal a few movies and bring them back to China.
