Intel Capital Still Holds Many Public Company Shares (INTC, CLWR, MU, VMW)

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) is not really making any strategy changes to its portfolio of public stock holdings under its Intel Capital unit.  That does not mean that it is not worth looking under the hood to see what the unit has for an engine.  The unit makes venture investments and therefore makes long-term partnerships with many emerging companies as a result.  When these come public, there is a value to the shares that has to be accounted for.

The biggest holdings worth note from its 13F are Clearwire Corporation (NASDAQ: CLWR), Micron Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: MU), and VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW).  We have outlined the rest of the public holdings here:

  • ASM INTERNATIONAL NV worth $9.602 million for 274,268 shares;
  • CLEARWIRE CORP. worth $17.167 million for 3,333,333 shares;
  • CLEARWIRE CORP. worth $171.667 million for 33,333,333 shares;
